I hope everyone had a nice labor day

Now let's get back down to business. This is a fan made video of Swagger Like Us done very well. My favorite part? When Kanye spits, "I slaved my whole life, now I'm the master." That's when you see a Kanye teddy bear whipping George Bush. I kind of think making fun of our incompetent president has gotten kind of stale, but it was funny nonetheless.

This synthesizer thing is officially rediculous

I thought it was stupid when Lil Wayne used it in Lollipop. I was disappointed when Kanye used it in Put On and the Lollipop remix (and now Swagger Like Us, why 'Ye?). But now I give up. Rihanna used it on the new T.I. track, Live Your Life. When T-Pain used it, I tolerated it. I mean, that was his thing. His thing, no one else's. It wasn't even that bad when Yeezy and Weezy took it being that their value is placed on what they say as opposed to how they said it. But Rihanna? I thought her talent was her vocal abilities, but she's pretty much made herself a rapper with this new track. It shocked me so much that I almost overlooked the numa numa sample.

This is kind of old, at least by blog standards

Here's the supposed first single off T.I.'s new album, Whatever You Like. Paper Trail is going to be the best pure rap album of this year. The reason? The man has turned tragedy to triumph by dedicating his house arrest to writing his lyrics. Paper Trail is due out September 30th. This + Invincible Summer + The Quilt = The only reason you should ever look forward to the month of September. Oh, and don't forget about football and cooler weather,

The day that was: July 17th

Here are a couple tracks that I heard for the first time today. Some days there is nothing new, other days it's a harvest. Today is one of those days.
Up first we have Whatever You Like by T.I. It's supposed to be the first single off Paper Trail (check the Album Cover here). I'm extremely excited about this because Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. has been under house arrest ever since his arrest last October. When someone is left with nothing to do but hone their craft, greatness emerges. Quote me on that.
The other reason the sun is shining today is every one's favorite DC-based rapper leaked a couple tracks like his name was Weezy. Get Whole Time (feat. Young Chris) here and Rhymefest's Ain't Heard It From Me (feat. Wale) here.

I'll Take You To Hell Just To Get You To Heaven

I did not plan this, I just got lucky. Yesterday I posted a video by Mickey Factz & The Cool Kids, which probably represents the future of Hip-Hop, and I complained the MCs needed to put more emphasis on their lyrics. Today I stumbled across this new T.I. (or maybe TIP) joint which will reportedly be part of his new album, Paper Trail. The track is entitled No Matter What and is loaded with verbal dynamite. T.I. worked on this song while he was on house arrest. Being on house arrest obviously sucks, but the product of this punishment is awesome for his fans. All up-and-comers, listen and take notes.
Get it HERE.
